 Welcome to St. Ambrose

Easter is the oldest of Christian holidays, and is the greatest feast of the liturgical year.  It is the culmination of Christ’s redemptive mission.

In the Gospel of Matthew, we read how an angel appeared to the women at the tomb early that first Easter morning.  The angel explained to them that Jesus was not there because he had been raised from the dead, just as he said!  The women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy.

That’s what the resurrection does.  It takes our fear, our worry, our hurt, our sadness…and puts it all into perspective.  The fact that Jesus is victorious over sin and death is the reason we celebrate.  His victory has the power to raise us up from our graves today, and gives us joy despite our often difficult circumstances.  Above all, Risen Christ promises that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. This is truly the light that shines through the darkness of death.

Join us on Easter Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, to sing praises with faith and confidence that we may be filled with joy no matter what our circumstances.
